The Urine R/M/E test is a common diagnostic test used to evaluate the overall health of the urinary system. It analyzes the physical, chemical, and microscopic characteristics of urine to detect infections, kidney problems, metabolic disorders, and other conditions.
Includes:
Physical Examination: Color, clarity, odor, and volume.
Chemical Analysis: pH, protein, glucose, ketones, bilirubin, urobilinogen, nitrite, and leukocyte esterase.
Microscopic Examination: Presence of red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), epithelial cells, bacteria, crystals, and casts.
To detect urinary tract infections (UTIs)
To monitor kidney health
To investigate symptoms like frequent urination, pain, or blood in urine
To assess metabolic conditions like diabetes
